Wiz dog potty training - Shih Tzu puppy

The next time you …
The next time you take him out for walk, take one of the training pads with you. Place the pad on top of the grass and say your command word (like “pee pee”). Continue to say the word several times as it is still eliminating. This may take several attempts before your Shih Tzu will associate the outdoors with peeing. Eventually you can remove the pad completely and your dog will eliminate outdoors without the pad. I hope this helps. Good luck!

cool i got the pads from pet smart and they work too i have been placing them at the far part of the room and it works for my 4 week shih tzu i keep taking him out side but he always waits till i bring him inside i dont know what to do ?

Thank you for your response. I’ve been taking your advice and it seems to be working. My dog is slowly realizing that that’s the place to go potty. There are still accidents here and there though. lol Happy Thanksgiving to you, too. =P

I find that …
I find that Nature’s Miracle training pads work well with the Wizdog. Also, go ahead and place some of the old urine on the pad to help with the “Potty” training. If your dog relieves him/herself on the floor, quickly place the dog on the Wizdog and give positive reinforcement. (Praise and treats) Eventually, the dog will associate the Wizdog with Potty. Just remember, patience and praise. Good Luck!

Yes! The grate on …
Yes! The grate on the Wizdog separates the urine and your dog’s paw so no more wet paw. Also, you can simply use newspaper as the lining so you no longer have to purchase training pads anymore. I hope this helps. Best of luck to you!
