what is the best dog food brand for a shih tzu puppy?

i want to get a proseries puppy. but i heard that eukanuba is also a good brand. im not pretty sure what im going to give my shih tzu pup. any suggestion?

The very best food for your dog is a raw diet, such as B.A.R.F.
If it's a kibble or canned food you're looking for, one of the best readily available foods around is Wellness. This brand can be found at any pet store worth its salt. It is not cheap, but none of the quality foods are.
When choosing a dog food, look for:
- An identified real meat source as the first ingredient. For example look for "chicken", "lamb", "fish", etc. Skip anything that lists "meat" or any unidentified source, this can be just about anything, including dog and cat meat or road kill.
- At lease one more identified meat ingredients in the following 3 ingredients. These are often meals or by-products, which are fine, as long as they're not the first ingredient.
- No corn, wheat, or soy.
- No artificial anything.
- Made in the USA. (I think Canada is safe too, avoid China.

Other good foods to consider are:
By Nature Organics, Innova EVO, Blue Buffalo, and Canidae.

Brands that are often recommended by those who don't properly research include Iams, Eukanuba, Hills, (Science Diet,) or any other brand you're likely to find at your grocery or discount store. These foods are filled with all sorts of things that are not good for your pet, and poor diet is blamed for all sorts of kitty problems, including cancer.

What you need to do is look at the food labels of any food you are considering. Ground Yellow Corn and By-Product Meal are considered filler and have no nutritional value for you dog and will simply mean you will be picking up more poop in the yard. Look for quality Protein sources as the primary ingredients, and look for Meal as opposed to just an ingredient because Meal is essentially cooked down protein so it eliminates a lot of the water content and you get more bang for your buck – (Example: Look for Chicken Meal as opposed to just Chicken).
I am a big fan of Nutro products, which offers a satisfaction and taste guarantee. If your dog won't eat it of you don't like the results you see in your pet, bring it back to the store for a full refund (keep your receipt)

This is a great question and you should do your research very carefully! Everyone is going to have their opinion but that does not mean it is the right food for your dog. I just lost my seven year old German Shepherd to cancer and that is when I went searching for the cause. I came across a website on the internet that shocked me into disbelief that I probably had poisoned my dog to death and didn't even know it. Most dog foods are loaded with hidden poisons and other obscenities I still have a hard time grasping. I am going to give you the website address so you can read this report and learn what is really in commercial dog foods and you can make an educated decision like I did on which dog food to buy! I wish you all the best!
