When should we give our shih tzu puppies away?

Their going for their shots on Friday and they turn 7 weeks this Sunday though we have someone expecting to get one after the shots.. I’d really like to wait until 8 weeks but my mom say 7 weeks is fine.
Oh yes, we’re only looking for the nicest, most caring people around. We love these little pups too much to give them to some people who will treat them badly.

8 weeks minimum. 12 weeks is usually the best. but, since it doesn’t really sound you like are a breeder and this was more of an accident, i think 8 weeks is fine, since you probably won’t be doing/paying attention to the stuff that goes on after 8 weeks.

hope this helps, have fun with the pups :)

8 weeks is the minimum. That one week from 7 weeks to 8 does matter and does make a difference.

Make sure they’re going to good homes, and then get your dog spayed.

Nothing wrong with 7 weeks. I have had real professionals give me over a dozen puppies 7 weeks or younger and they have done very well just like the thousands of others I have seen.

If they are still nursing i would wait 8 to 10 weeks, it is very important and will affect their development. Good luck.

And like the other answer 7 weeks is possible they just wont have the optimal benefit. :-)

    minimal age is 8 weeks.

in many areas, its illegal to sell or give away pups before 8 weeks

    really 10-12 weeks is better.

8 weeks is a good age! they are not to young or too old! Put them out on the market now so you don’t have them for long unless you don’t mind. make sure you know the people who are taking them first! you don’t want to have someone who is irresponsible to have your pup!

No, 7 weeks is not just ‘fine’. 8 weeks is the minimum by law in some states, so check yours to be sure you’re not doing anything illegal. Next, responsible breeders of toy breeds keep them until they’re 10-12 weeks. It takes a couple of weeks for the immune response from the vaccinations to be complete, so if you believe they’re protected as soon as you leave the vet’s office you’re wrong

Your mom is wrong…10 weeks is a minimum for small breed dogs, and recommended for all dogs.

8 weeks at the earliest. heard that between 6 and 8 weeks are the mean socialization between humans and other animals…

toy breeds should be kept 10-12 weeks. if you can’t be responsible breeders then SPAY.
