What brand of food should I feed my Shih Tzu?

I adopted a 3 1/2 month old shih tzu and The previous owner gave me a bag of beneful (purina) he doesn’t seem to like it at all. I would have to feed him by hand, but still doesn’t eat all of the recommended daily value. Is he home sick? I just got him 3 Days ago and left 1 sibling. My cousin has a Shih Tzu also and she said she had the same problem with hers, but IDK. Any suggestions/Advice?

Anything but the Beneful, since it is not good food and certainly not puppy food. Choose a chicken and rice small breed puppy food or a high quality life long food like Taste of the Wild. Food hint: if one of the first 3 ingredients is corn, put it back on the shelf.

today is their first day in the home together.puppy met her at shelter(neutral ground).they seem to be doing fine.has anyone ever had puppy and then got an older dog?how did it go?

naturally the dog that you have had longer will have some territorial tendencies on its own turf rather than the neutral ground at the shelter. as long as the two dogs are not both alpha time will help them to become best buddies. You will most likely need to feed them separately for a bit so food doesn’t insight any fights. Your shelter should also be able to help you get them adjusted.
