How Long Does It Take for a Shih Tzu’s Coat to Grow From Shaved to Full Length?

I adopted a Shih Tzu who had to be shaved because she was so matted, I want to grow her hair long. Not necessarily full show coat, but long.. how long does it take to grow out?

A show Shih Tzu reaches full coat length at around 18 - 24 months of age.

So around a year and a half.

When ever I shave mine it grows back little by little.
My shih tzu takes about 4-6 months maybe less, growing back her coat from getting a shave.
It could be different, every dog is different.

1+ year to reach a longer length, but this will require daily brushing down to the skin, in layers, and/or regular grooming appointments, depending on how much you want to brush.
